Providing a Quality Education for Our Children.
While many small school systems struggle, the Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart School District (BLHS) is thriving.
In January of 2008, the U.S. News and World Report evaluated 1800 schools nationally and awarded BLHS High School with a Bronze Award for Educational Outcomes.
BLHS is a rural pre-K through 12th grade school with two campus locations. Kindergarten through grade Five is in Buffalo lake. Preschool and grades 6-12 are a short five mile bus ride away in Hector. The school district also enjoys a growing number of open enrollment students from the surrounding area.
Learning is a Lifestyle
Our teachers, staff, students and district residents believe that learning is a lifestyle and requires constant change for success. As a result our schools are remarkably successful for being a small school district.
Our smaller rural setting and class sizes allow students to experience personalized educational programs as well as many opportunities to become involved in extra-curricular activities.
Please visit the BLHS Public School website for more information about our school system.
